Surf brand Billabong collaborates with indigenous band King Stingray on new range of clothes

There aren’t many Australians who didn’t covet surf brands as teenagers, and Billabong was always at the top of the crop.

The iconic label’s latest fashion collaboration has mixed things up — by working alongside “Yolngu Surf Rock” group King Stingray.

The collection, now available in stores and online, represents a harmonious blend of culture, community and connection.

King Stingray, deeply rooted in Australia’s indigenous heritage, brings a fresh perspective to surf culture with its modern interpretation of timeless sound.

The collaboration aims to inspire the next generation while fostering a deeper connection to the rich tapestry of Australian indigenous traditions.

Drawing inspiration from their upbringing in north-east Arnhem Land, each piece in the collection features hand-drawn artwork by King Stingray’s guitarist Dimathaya Burarrwanga.
