Man seriously injured in collision between car and tractor in Virginia, South Australia


A 68-year-old man driving a tractor on a rural Adelaide road has been seriously injured in a collision with a car.

The accident happened about 6.45am on Thursday at the intersection of Womma West Rd and Alfred Rd, police said.

The tractor driver was reportedly trapped by his leg but bystanders managed to help free him.

He was taken to Royal Adelaide Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the car, a 19-year-old man, was not injured but was taken to hospital as a precaution.

Womma West Rd was closed between King Road and Alfred Road but is now reopening.
